Write Your Goals to Focus Your Thinking

The Power of Writing Your Goals

You can’t hit a target you can’t see. (Okay, maybe you COULD—but even then, how would you know?)

Writing can clarify and focus your thinking.

Writing is a powerful way to capture and preserve intentions.

By writing your goals, you know they exist. You can also return to them and more easily refine them. Writing makes it easier to share them with others.

And, the mind is a slippery place. We often think we know something until we attempt to explain or remember it.

If your goals are worth pursuing, they’re worth writing.

Use Fill-in-the-Blank Questions to Help Your Clients Make Massive Breakthroughs

When you trust that your clients already have their own answers, your work as a coach becomes about helping them access those answers.

One tool that can help with this is fill-in-the-blank questions.

Inviting your clients to fill in the blank is like giving them a running start to finding answers and solutions.

Here are a couple of examples:

“Fill in the following blank: If my marriage were exactly how I want it to be, it would include ____________.” “If I really wanted to earn more money I would ____________.”

Help you EARN RECOGNITION AND MONEY

Market the Problem

Many marketers say it’s easier to sell “aspirin” (the solution to a problem) than “vitamins” (something that makes people feel good).

Before you can sell someone the remedy to their ailment, you must know their ailment.

Have you seen billboards that say something like “Injured in an accident?” Or magazine ads that ask a question like “Got jock itch?”

Those are compelling questions for people experiencing those pains right now.

Which of your clients’ pain do you eliminate? How could you turn that into a short question? How could you use it to attract potential clients’ attention?
