Jeff Speck
Jeff Speck is a city planner and urban designer who advocates internationally for more walkable cities. His book, Walkable City: How Downtown Can Save America, One Step at a Time was written not just for designers, but to also convert generalists to his cause. Walkability doesn’t just impact city planning; it has huge effects on economics, health, and the environment.
Jeff has spent 10 years as the Director of Town Planning at DPZ & Co., the principal firm behind the New Urbanism movement. He’s also been named a fellow of both the American Institute of Certified Planners and the Congress for New Urbanism. Award-winning in design consultancy, Jeff’s TEDtalks on the subject of walkable cities has been viewed over 4 million times.
