International Dance Day
Happy International Dance Day!
A friend of mine once asked me, “What if you were so happy that all that was left was to dance?”
Writer Aldous Huxley once said, “After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.”
Music I’ve been using to help me create my book—and that might help you in your own creative endeavors—comes from Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds.
One song I find particularly moving is Loom, one he created with Bonobo. Listen on Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube.
And, perfect for International Dance Day, here’s a link to a beautiful video of Loom that features dancers in a lake in the Icelandic highlands.
One last video: last year Ólafur performed live at the Sydney Opera House. It’s nearly 80 minutes of music to read or create to. You can find it here.
