Learning to Live in the Long Now and the Big Here
I just finished Roman Krznaric’s excellent book The Good Ancestor: A Radical Prescription for Long-Term Thinking.
In this book I learned about the Long Now Foundation, an organization whose website explains, “[We hope] to provide a counterpoint to today’s accelerating culture and help make long-term thinking more common. We hope to foster responsibility in the framework of the next 10,000 years.”
Two of the Long Now Foundation’s projects are the 10,000 Year Clock, and the Rosetta Project.
The foundation’s site also hosts Brian Eno’s thought-provoking essay The Big Here and the Long Now.
You are always here. It is always now.
