The more you acquire and the harder you work to acquire it, the more you fear losing it. That’s the secret in life. If you run after things, nothing will come to you.

Now is the time to know that all that you do is sacred… Now is the time for you to deeply compute the impossibility that there is anything but grace.

The sage manages affairs without action and spreads doctrine without words. By acting without action, all things will be in order.

True art does not reveal its skill.

First, rely on the spirit and meaning of the teachings, not on the words; Second, rely on the teachings, not the personality of the teacher; Third, rely on real wisdom, not superficial interpretation; and fourth, rely on the essence of your pure Wisdom Mind, not on judgmental perceptions.

When the mind is poised and well concentrated, the supreme Self of man becomes visible.

When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Life your life in such a manner that when you die the world cries and you rejoice.

When you practice non—attachment, real happiness will always be with you and will encourage you in both your adversity and your happiness.

Find the sweetness in your own heart, then you may find the sweetness in every heart.

If I have just one aim,/And if that aim is to be myself,/Then I am bound to discover joy, /True joy, eternal joy. 

You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean. If a few drops are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.

Nothing is often a good thing to do and always a clever thing to say.

The cultivation of intuitive calmness requires unfoldment of the inner life.

This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.

There seems to be some perverse human characteristic that likes to make easy things difficult.

In those moments when we forget ourselves—not thinking, “Am I happy?” but completely oblivious to our little ego—we spend a brief but beautiful holiday in heaven.

People seeking to live spiritually must be concerned with their social and physical environment.

Offer unto me that which is very dear to thee—which thou holdest most covetable. Infinite are the results of such an offering. 

Let go of what has passed. / Let go of what may come. / Let go of what is happening now. / Don’t try to figure anything out. / Don’t try to make anything happen. / Relax, right now, and rest.

This world is only one drop in an infinite ocean, one link in an infinite chain.

Our greatest mistake is that we think of God as acting symbolically and allegorically, instead of practically and literally.

Unless you love, you cannot be of any help.

Your uncertainty is haunting you, but it is merely your reflection in the mirror.
